Become a Pro Rugby Player
Professional rugby players spend their time training, developing skills and assessing the opposition as well as playing matches.
Pro rugby players may also carry out community or charity work on behalf of the club.
Rugby players train most days, with matches played at weekends or weekday evenings. They spend time both indoors in a gym or sports hall, and outside at the club's training centre. A large majority of time is spent travelling to matches, sometimes abroad, often requiring overnight stays.
To become a pro rugby player you need to have a high standard of fitness and an exceptional talent for playing rugby.
You also have to be motivated, dedicated and self-disciplined. In addition to this, it is important to be able to cope with the pressure of important matches and with media attention.
